    HostMySite.com DNS NameServers

    HostMySite DNS Servers Q&A

Jamir in Bangalore asks: What's Host My Site's DNS? I want to transfer my domain name to HostMySite.com but I want the HostMySite Domain Name Server (DNS) to host my domain name in the meantime until I actually go ahead and buy a hosting package from them.

Our Answer: HostMySite DNS NameServers are easy. At your current domain registrar you will have a space for DNS - domain name servers - which identify where your website will be hosted at or transfered to. It will likely have the domain registrar as the default information, so you will need to change that and enter the HostMySite DNS information there instead. We recommend you read the transfer domain document provided by your domain name registrar in order to verify the specific fields where you need to update your information. Note that if you want to buy a new domain name, you can click here and we list hosts that will buy you a FREE Domain if you host your website with them. Of course, you can also register a new domain with HostMySite and they will auto-propogate all the appropriate domain name server information for you. HostMySite charges $12.95 per year for a domain registration - significantly more than hosts like HostMonster or IX Web Hosting. To transfer a domain to AN Hosting Inc., you will probably need to use your domain registrar's online control panel to input the HostMySite DNS service information. Consult the review sheet or guide your registrar offers if you need help with this procedure. The HostMySite DNS Servers have two lines, two DNS numbers, you will need to input. The following information must be entered in order to get your domain name to properly resolve to the HostMySite DNS Name Servers where you can then go ahead and buy a hosting package. Not entering this information exactly will result in a failure to resolve to the HostMySite domain name servers. Copy and paste the DNS information exactly.

    ns1.lnhi.net
    ns2.lnhi.net

The first HostMySite DNS input is called the primary name server, the second DNS data is called the secondary DNS numbers name server. Note that the HostMySite DNS info is NOT ns1.hostmysite.com and ns2.hostmysite.com, so be careful not to make that common mistake.

If you want to buy a HostMySite web hosting plan, you can find them in our web hosting search engine with their best prices. If you need their DNS IP information, the details are:

    209.41.184.100
    65.36.160.56

Hopefully this guide has answered your question on what is the dns for HostMySite? Please let us know if HostIndex.com can be of further assistance.
